WATCH: Disguised Alanis Morissette Performs With Jimmy Fallon in New York Subway

Alanis Morissette and ‘The Tonight Show’ host Jimmy Fallon put on disguises and surprised passersby and commuters at New York City Subway’s 47th-50th Streets Rockefeller Center station with a performance of “The Little Drummer Boy” and her 1990s hit “You Oughta Know”.

A crowd quickly gathered and watched as the two busked in disguise. Alanis wore a blonde wig, party sunglasses, and a beige cowboy hat; while Jimmy put on a full beard, dark sunglasses, and a bonnet with little drums as props. The unsuspecting audience can be seen taking videos the pair’s Christmas carol on their phones. After the performance, Jimmy thanked and greeted the crowd, “Happy, happy, happy holidays, everybody!”. He then began to remove his disguise and introduced himself and Alanis Morissette, much to the delight of the New Yorkers.

The uproar that came after the revelation drew more people as Alanis started singing her monster hit “You Oughta Know” from her album “Jagged Little Pill“, while Fallon played the tambourine and backup vocals turned up among the crowd, who enthusiastically sang along. It turned into a really fun mini-concert. You can watch their performance here.

Alanis is set to go on tour middle of 2020, with Garbage and Liz Phair, to celebrate the 25th anniversary of her 1995 hit album Jagged Little Pill. It will cover North America with stops in Los Angeles, New York, Chicago and Nashville. In May, her ninth studio LP, “Such Pretty Forks in the Road” is scheduled for release.
