“It was really fun and really smooth. There were no challenges at all,” she shared, adding that their connection came naturally. “We vibed… it was just mutual support and respect. He’s really professional, really good energy.”

My also noted how Gelo remained collaborative throughout the project, from recording to filming the music video. She shared that he was open to direction and put effort into refining his parts, including adding his own flow to the rap she had written.

Gelo, for his part, admitted he initially felt nervous about working abroad, especially with the language barrier. Still, he said My helped make the environment more comfortable.

“I thought I was going to be intimidated… because I’m the only Filipino and I can’t understand,” he said. “But she’s always there to explain. She’s a fun person but also knows when to be in work mode.”

He also pointed out similarities between Vietnamese and Filipino production teams, noting their shared hands-on and collaborative approach.

With “ZEALOUS” marking their first international collaboration, both artists expressed interest in future projects. My said she’s open to working with more Filipino creatives, citing curiosity and a desire to explore different styles and perspectives.

“I would love to work with even more people here in the Philippines… there’s a lot more to explore and experience,” she said.

Gelo echoed the sentiment and shared that he hopes to collaborate again with My, this time with BGYO as a group.

My also spoke about her impressions of Filipino talent, pointing out the strong vocal and dance abilities she’s observed.

“When it comes to Filipino music… you guys are great singers,” she said. “You guys also are great dancers… it feels natural.”
