An insurgence is upon us. The University of the Philippines Society of Proactive Advocates for Research and Knowledge (UP SPARK) presents its bi-annual Round Table Discussion entitled, The AI UP-Rising: Technological Breakthrough or Societal Breakdown? happening on May 16, 2026.
As artificial intelligence (AI) continues to evolve and root itself in the world as we know it, The AI UP-Rising aims to examine AI’s far-reaching implications—from sectoral opportunities and economic growth to environmental sustainability and ethical considerations—while exploring policy frameworks and regulatory responses.
The event brings together experts and thought leaders to engage in meaningful and interdisciplinary discourse. Speakers invited for The AI UP-Rising come from diverse backgrounds, ranging from academe and telecommunications to non-government organizations and public institutions.
