UP Open University Offers 44 Free Online Courses—Here’s How You Can Enroll

The University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) has unveiled 44 free Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) for 2025. This is excellent news for anyone looking to upskill or acquire new knowledge!

All courses are self-paced, allowing learners to study at their own convenience. Upon completion, participants can earn e-certificates that can be included in their resumes as 16-hour training credits.

How to Enroll?

To enroll in your desired course, you must have a MODeL (Massive Open Distance eLearning) account to self-enroll through the UPOU website.

If you don’t have a MODeL account yet, here’s how to create one:

  1. Fill out the registration form here: https://url.upou.edu.ph/upoumodel-signup. Take note that login credentials will be sent every Thursday, with a cutoff at 4 pm on Wednesdays. Requests submitted after the cutoff will be processed the following week.
  2. Once you receive the email with your login credentials, sign in to your MODeL account.
  3. Make sure to change your password immediately after logging in to your MODeL account.
