UFC: Rafale Dos Anjos out of 196; Conor to face Diaz next

Looks like Conor McGregor will have to wait until the next UFC to tango with Rafael Dos Anjos in the Octagon.

With just days left until UFC 196, RDA reportedly broke his foot during a sparring session and won’t be make it for his scheduled bout against the aggressive Irishman on March 5.

But UFC president Dana White isn’t planning to write off the main event; instead, White announced that McGregor will square off against Nate Diaz, a man who’s hungry to take him down.

UFC 196

Late last year, Diaz called out — in an expletive-filled post-fight interview — McGregor after his victory over Michael Johnson, saying he wants to face the Irishman after he “took everything” from him.

According to reports, the Nate Diaz – Connor McGregor match won’t be an interim-belt match.

Conor was scheduled to fight Dos Anjos for his Lightweight championship belt, hoping to be a two-division UFC title holder. But with the turn of events, he’ll have to wait.
