Tunog at Letra Music Festival Aims to Raise Funds for La Mesa Ecopark’s Rehabilitation

NewVibe PH, an independent musical artists management and events organization group, is going all in this with a planned run of fundraisers directed at helping with La Mesa Ecopark’s rejuvenation—and it starts this November. The organizers aim to raise funds so that the park can plant 400 seedlings within the area, as well as support its other advocacies and campaigns in the future.

For the benefit of the Bantay Kalikasan Foundation, the group is planning to run a succession of environment-friendly events which will kick-off with the “Go Green – Concert for a Cause” concert which will be headlined by music acts such as Tanya Markova, BLASTER and The Celestial Klownz, CHNDTR, Agaw Agimat, Fireflies, Roman Anton (from Thailand) and NewVibe PH’s very own Olkisrotom, and Skoolservice among others.

This concert not only aims to kick-start a medley of events, but it will also act as a fundraiser for the other efforts and causes that the organizers passionate about. Proceeds from this show will not only go to the Bantay Kalikasan Foundation and La Mesa Ecopark Rehabilitation Program, but a portion will also help the Helping Hands Club, and the Organisasyon ng mga Musikerong Indie—two smaller foundations that the group constantly supports.

The team also plans to do more fundraisers in the future such as the Awit-Tawanan Concert for a Cause, Zumba for a Cause, and a planned indie Battle of the Bands for a Cause. Throughout the coming months, not only will they be supporting green-friendly and rehabilitation efforts, but they will also be opening a platform to promote smaller indie musicians and artists looking to ply their craft and spread their music to a wider audience.

As avid promoters of the indie music scene, NewVibe PH has commissioned musical acts such as Soleil Misalucha, Angel Sengco, Toto Alava, Rein, Last Days of December, Nadj Zablan, Mad Generic, Edward Anthony, and a plethora of other independent artists to join the fray to provide entertainment and give life to the festivities.

With live events slowly coming back, this will be a good opportunity to catch some of the freshest acts that came out with lots of original music during the pandemic. Modern garage band The Mox aims to introduce the “garage style of rock with a twist” to the crowd. Spotify hitmakers HUNYO will also be there to spread their brand of OPM to the world. A Song of Praise Grand Finalist Joel Jabelosa will also be gracing the stage with his witticisms and playful yet catchy tunes. These are just some of the new names that people will discover and want to watch out for in the scene along with the previously aforementioned names.

This large-scale gig will surely be a goldmine of undiscovered indie talent that has brewed for over the last few years during the pandemic. Partnered with an essential cause, it is something that most people will not surely want to miss—especially those who want to give back to the green supporters’ community and the sustainability-friendly associations, but the independent music scene as well.

This is actually not the first time NewVibe PH and Bantay Kalikasan Foundation have joined forces as they held a small show last June 5 entitled “Music and Nature at La Mesa Ecopark” as part of the Environment Month @ La Mesa—a precursor of the relationship to come between the two entities. The independent music events organizer is a proud supporter of various helpful causes; hence, this seems like a match made in heaven and we do hope that there will be more to come not only from this group, but from other outfits as well.
