1. Canyoneering in Badian, Cebu
Canyoneering or Canyoning literally means “traveling through canyons” with means of swimming, cliff jumping, rapelling and hiking on land.
Just to give you an overview, you will travel downstream the Kanlaob River. It means you are following the river going down to the end which is the Kawasan Falls. That’s why you need to do all of these activities like cliff jumping and hiking.
Me and my friends were true adventure seekers. We’re really brave when it comes to exploring anything new but Canyoneering was challenging even for us.
For you to enter you have to jump a cliff. Maybe around 10-20 meters in height. It sounds so much more scarier in person, especially when you look at the raging waters below. What I did was I volunteered to be the first to jump in. I just thought “f it, let’s just get this over with.” I recommend to let the person who was most scared to go in first. Also, the longer you wait to jump, the more difficult it will be. So just say “F it, let’s do this!” followed by a scream and a jump. Once youre in the water you’d want to do it again!
Don’t worry there is a total of 3 more cliffs to jump to! Some, you would need to slide into or fall back.
I have been researching for weeks on how long the trail was. I used google map and asked the local guides but they did not know the exact measurement. We started at 10am and ended at 4pm. It took us 6 hours! It didn’t seem that long though. It was really fun! I’m going back next week to do this again. That’s how much I liked it!
