The New York-based travel magazine included Palawan in its “25 Best Islands to Visit Around the World, According to T+L Readers,” ranking it 13th with a reader score of 90.59.
“This thin island off the western coast of the Philippines is known for its unparalleled natural beauty, including limestone cliffs, lagoons, and rainforests,” the description reads.
It continued: “Travelers can explore preserves such as the Puerto-Princesa Subterranean River National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the New Seven Wonders of Nature, and learn about cultural practices from Indigenous communities like the Batak and Tagbanua tribes.”
Maldives topped the list with a reader score of 95.63, followed by Phú Quốc, Vietnam, and Bali, Indonesia, with scores of 94.41 and 93.26, respectively.
In July, the same travel-based magazine also included Palawan among the “5 Favorite Islands in Asia,” joining Maldives, Phú Quốc, Bali, and Koh Samui.
