5. Go to the Gensan Fish Port Complex.

General Santos City 3

Gensan is known for its abundant and class A tuna, as well. So, if you want to get (or see) the freshest, biggest and best tuna, then you should be at the port as early as 4 AM in order to achieve a full-on tuna experience. Other than tuna, you will also get to see fish of all sorts.

If you’ve failed to buy fresh tuna and seafood from the Gensan Fish Port Complex, then you could pass by RDEX Foods on your way to the airport to buy some frozen food items instead. They will pack them into a styro box for you to keep the frozen items cool. Keep in mind that they will need to be checked-in at the airport, though.

Nadie’s is a certified non-pork establishment famous for its grilled chicken infused with flavours that excite every palette. I’ve never eaten chicken as flavourful and as tender as I had at Nadie’s. You might also want to try their Ensalandang Talong on the side.

1. Work Out at Pacman’s Wild Card Gym.

General Santos City 18

Last but not the least, your Gensan trip wouldn’t be complete without visiting Manny Pacquiao’s Gym. To be honest, as a tourist, I wasn’t aiming for anything fitness-related at all given the time restrain. All I wanted was to see Mr. Pacquiao in the flesh and to have a “selfie” with him. The Jovers gave us the very rare opportunity to meet the one and only “People’s Champ”!!! I must say that this stop was the ultimate cherry on top!

We were all so starstruck and in awe of his presence and his astounding speed and skill. It was definitely a fangirl moment for me. He was surprisingly very friendly and he even allowed us to have a photo op, even though he was in the middle of his training.
