Tom Hiddleston Opens Up About “Hiddleswift”

In what was a very personal interview, Tom Hiddleston got honest about his failed relationship with singer Taylor Swift.

Speaking to GQ, Tom revealed that despite the public’s speculations on the whole Hiddleswift affair being a publicity stunt, the actor simply verified the romance by saying:

“Of course it was real.”

Naturally, the biggest question on everyone’s minds, and the detail that set fuel to the rumors that it was all a big PR ploy, was the I (love) T.S. shirt Tom sported on the 4th of July. And this was what he said:

“The truth is, it was the Fourth of July and a public holiday and we were playing a game and I slipped and hurt my back. And I wanted to protect the graze from the sun and said, ’Does anyone have a T-shirt?’ And one of her friends said, ’I’ve got this.’ The friend pulled out the “I ♥ T.S.” tank top that Taylor’s friends are contractually obligated to own. And we all laughed about it. It was a joke.”

Tom admitted that it was the press hullabaloo that led to the end of his three-month romance with the 1989 singer:

“I only know the woman I met. She’s incredible. But, man, all those cameras. A relationship in the limelight takes work.

And it’s not just the limelight. It’s everything else.”
