Banawe isn’t particularly known for steak, much less good steak, but all that has changed because of this hidden gem in an unassuming building in 238 Banawe Street. Thanks to this underrated steak restaurant, you can now enjoy mouth-watering steaks in the heart of Banawe (note: they serve Instagram-worthy milkshakes, too!).
Sear Steak Scullery offers different cuts of steaks – from budget to premium. They also have an expansive menu, so you’ll be sure to find something that fits your fancy. Read until the end to find out about their free steak and 20% off promo that makes this place even more worth your while!
We started off the meal with a refreshing sip of their Cold Brew (P120). Even though they are mainly a steak restaurant, they serve third wave artisanal coffee for coffee lovers.

For appetizers, they offer complimentary bread with pimiento and cilantro spreads. Their pandesal was surprisingly light and crunchy! We coupled that with their Crab and Mango Salad (P220), which comes with a sweet and tangy dressing. They also didn’t skimp on the shrimp on the salad!
Now comes the fun part; this is what Sear Steak Scullery is most known for.

They serve a wide range of steaks – from a Mini Striploin (a budget version of their USDA striploin) to an A5 marbling grade Hida Wagyu beef, which is known to give Matsusaka and Kobe beef a run for their money. They import their beef from the USA, while their wagyu cuts are from Japan.

In addition, they are very strict with their beef quality. If there are imperfections in the meat, they reject it from their supplier.
First off is their best seller – the USDA Striploin Steak (P699). You just have to get your teeth around their black angus striploin with its excellent marbling; this is definitely a must-try. The moment it touches your tongue, the beef will just melt in your mouth.
Make sure to order your steaks medium rare to fully appreciate the flavors and texture! All of their entrees come with their frothy mushroom soup and you can choose between cilantro rice and mashed potatoes for the side dish.
They also use the striploin in their breakfast item, the Breakfast Strip Steak (P349). This offers a good bang for your buck if you want to try their striploin without committing a lot of money.
They also have a huge T-bone (P1,599) which is the owner’s personal favorite. There’s just something about steak that still has a bone-in which adds flavor to the meat. Try it out and you’ll see why!

They also have a wide array of pastas, their bestseller being their Pesto Pasta (P259). The owner harvests the basil used for their pesto from her own garden, so it’s always freshly picked!
Aside from the mouth-watering steaks, they also serve fall-off-the-bone BBQ Ribs (P399).
They also have Baked Salmon (P420) topped with a creamy white sauce, giving everyone who visits them a wide array of food choices.
To finish your meal, Sear serves these Instagram-worthy milkshakes. They are so large, you might need someone to share one with you! We tried out their S’mores (left, P220), Salted Caramel Pretzel (middle, P220), and Dark Chocolate (right, P220) milkshakes which completed our hearty and filling meal.
