This New Coffee x Ice Cream Flavor is a Yummy Match Made in Heaven

Coffee ice cream is the dessert version of my favorite cup of joe. No stranger to a regular cup of coffee, sweetener, and milk—these are all blended and chilled to concoct a well-loved treat. My love for coffee has easily brought me to adore the new partnership between artisan ice cream maker Kurīmu and third-wave coffee shop Yardstick.

When handcrafted ice cream collides with small-batch roasting, the end product is the yummy Kohi Cream コーヒー. Kurīmu has always admired Yardstick Coffee’s philosophy of pushing the boundaries of their singular vision—coffee. This is evident in what they do and how far they’ve come. With that in mind, the two came together to explore how they can marry both ice cream and coffee under the same philosophy of doing simple things really well. They toyed around with fancy and creative ideas (i.e., using intricate mix-ins or flavor fusions) but as Mozart puts it, “the music is not in the notes, but in the silence in between”.

The new signature ice cream variant is infused with Yardstick Coffee’s famous Golden Ticket Blend. Its coffee notes are milk chocolate, almonds, and caramel. Kurīmu envisions this to become a new avenue to present third-wave coffee through ice cream as the backdrop, and they hope this collaboration will appeal to both the coffee connoisseur and the everyday foodie.

My thoughts? Kohi Cream is a yummy match made in heaven—the marriage of two of my favorite things. A spoonful of this ice cream is smooth, creamy, and offers the right kick of coffee. For P450 a pint (16 oz), it is one of the sweetest ways to indulge.

Try out their other flavors, too, at P420 a pint:

  • Kinako Chocolate
  • Kinako Vanilla
  • Shoyu Caramel
  • Matcha
  • Black Sesame

Note: From November 27 to December 4, Kurīmu will be donating PHP50 for every Kohi Cream pint sold on kurimu.ph, yardstickcoffee.com, and at Yardstick’s Roastery Cafe in Legazpi Village, to AHA! Learning Center—a foundation that supports schools and communities with its free after-school programs that target children from grades 1 to 10.

If you truly love coffee and ice cream then you should give the Kohi Cream a try.
