The World’s 50 Best just dropped Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2024 list at the awards ceremony at Rosewood Hong Kong on July 16. Once again, the Philippines’ The Curator Coffee and Cocktails made its way to the top!

A spot higher than last year, the bar located in Makati City now ranks 33rd on Asia’s 50 Best Bars 2024 list – its ninth time to be included since 2016. The Curator Coffee and Cocktails is also the lone Philippine bar on the list.
For those who haven’t heard, The Curator Coffee and Cocktails is a third-wave coffee shop during the day and serves its “People You’d Like to Have a Drink With” cocktail menu by night. In a social media post, co-founder David Ong expressed their gratitude to the awarding body, as well as their “peers, colleagues, and regulars turned family for this wonderful achievement!”

“We would not be here if it were not for you all – you guys are amazing,” Ong adds. “The last few years have been tough for the Food & Beverage Industry in the Philippines, and so this really means a lot to us! Having said that, we speak for everyone when we say, ‘Kumain ka na ba? Tagay hanggang mamatay’. (Have you eaten? Cheers until death.)”
He also took the opportunity to invite everyone, saying, “PLEASE COME TO THE PHILIPPINES, we cannot wait to host You.”

The Top 5 bars in Asia, according to the list, were Bar Leone in Hong Kong, Zest in Seoul, Jigger & Pony in Singapore, Coa in Hong Kong, and Bar Benfiddich in Tokyo.
Asia’s 50 Best Bars’ extended 51-100 list also named the Philippines’ Southbank Cafe + Lounge (with branches in Muntinlupa and Pasig), claiming the 82nd spot.
