Fashion Smile Teeth Whitening
Part of my journey to having a bright smile is having whiter teeth. Apparently, certain food and drinks – like coffee and wine (eep! things I love drinking!) – stain your teeth. Good thing dentists have a solution to this: teeth whitening! Fashion Smile specializes in Zoom Teeth Whitening which can whiten your teeth up to 8 shades brighter. The treatment uses low amount of chemicals which also strengthens teeth. Contrary to popular belief, however, teeth whitening is not permanent. It usually lasts 1-3 years, less for people who frequently consume staining food and drinks (like coffee lovers like me).

Maintenance is key when it comes to teeth whitening. The dentists advice staying away from staining food or drinks, or if/when you can’t, brush after. Home whitening kits also help keep your whiter teeth pristine.
The Fashion Smile Teeth Whitening process begins with a check up where the dentist assesses your teeth. As much as possible patients must have good oral hygiene, otherwise, they might need to first undergo deep scaling or cleaning and then wait for 1-2 weeks until gums are healed and teeth are less sensitive. The dentists also remind me that front teeth shouldn’t have cavities or restorations. Having tooth restoration, however, doesn’t mean that you can’t have your teeth whitened. It just means that you’d have to replace the restoration after around 2 weeks to match your whiter teeth color. This was the case for me.
Dr. Far explained the whitening process to me step by step. They made sure to answer all the questions I had. Annnnnd, here we go!
After prepping me (they gave me this funky eye wear for the procedure, too!), they turned the laser up. I did two 15 minute sessions under the laser. There was no pain throughout the procedure, just slight sensitivity. Dr. Far tells me that this would depend on how healthy the patient’s teeth are.

Immediately after the procedure, there were already results! The shade guide below shows my teeth color before the Fashion Smile Whitening procedure.
Dr. Shideh explained to me that the whitening chemicals put on my teeth are still processing even after treatment. It takes around 2 weeks after it stops and then you have your final shade.
