The Cake Club by Diamond Hotel – Not Your Average Slice of Cake

What followed next is a feast of paninis. As part of that night’s journey, The Cake Club introduced to us their infantry of paninis. Basically, a panini is just a sandwich with an attitude. It is pressed and grilled, and those char marks are its battle scars, making them more interesting than just sandwich.

We sampled five paninis – Ultimate Cheese, Parma Ham and Arugula, Grilled Chicken and Pesto, Smoked Salmon, and Grilled Vegetables from Tagaytay.

The Ultimate Cheese Panini is comparable to a cheese heaven. It is filled with mozzarella and Gruyere cheese. Simple but flavorful.

The Parma Ham and Arugula Panini has fresh and thin slices of Parma ham and organic arugula leaves. This one is something meat lovers would really enjoy.

The Grilled Chicken and Pesto Panini has juicy chicken breast that seasoned well. Filling also the bread are grilled zucchini, pesto-mayo spread, and Emmental cheese.

My favorite among the lot is the Smoked Salmon Panini. My deep affection for seafood is further intensified by this panini. It has Norwegian smoked salmon, cream cheese spread, red onion, and capers.

The Cake Club made sure that there is a panini for everyone, even for vegetarians. The Grilled Vegetables from Tagaytay Panini has organic vegetables dressed with cheese and homemade balsamic dressing. I am not a big fan of stuff that grows on trees or shrubs so I didn’t bother checking this, but I definitely say this one is awesome just because it supports local produce. 🙂
