Taylor Swift shook the world the moment she released her much-awaited album, Lover, last Friday. In just a couple of days, it has already overtaken the official soundtrack of A Star Is Born as the top-selling album of 2019!

According to Billboard, Lover has already sold half a million copies in the US alone in just one day since its release, surpassing the 444,000 copies that A Star Is Born sold from the beginning of 2019 to mid-August. Although the total sales of A Star Is Born from its release in October 2018 to date amounts to 1.148 million, the industry predicts that Lover will sell at least 700,000 million by the end of the week, making it the biggest album release since Taylor’s 2017 album Reputation which sold 1.216 million copies on its first week.

Taylor Swift is also now tied with Beyoncé for most consecutive albums by a female artist to debut at number one in the Billboard 200.
