A post of a basketball-themed facebook page posted the photo of the boy with the caption: “wala sa sapatos yan, nasa laro yan.”

(Rough translation: It’s not in the shoes, it’s how you play the game.)

After seeing this post, Facebook user Lyndon Miclat immediately had the urge to help this kid. As the photo only showed a kid with his back turned away from the camera, it was difficult to find him.

After two days, he found the kid’s Facebook account and contacted him about his address so that he could give him a pair of basketball shoes so the kid would no longer have to play with his school shoes.

He shared on his facebook post: “Sabi ko naman sayo hahanapin kita eh. Proud ako sayo dahil kahit wala kang sapatos gustong gusto mo padin maglaro kaya mo sinuot black shoes mo. Napasaya sana kita sa munting regalo ko sayo at ayusin mo sana pag-aaral mo lalo. Dalawang araw ka naming hinanap sa social media, maraming salamat po sa lahat ng tumulong mag-hanap. Sana this time pag may sobra tayo matuto din tayong ibahagi natin sa iba. Blessings are from God. Ibalik natin sakanya.”

(Rough translation: I told you I’ll find you. I’m proud of you because even if you do not want shoes you want to play games you can put on your black shoes. I’ll be happy with my little gift to you and make sure you study it especially. We searched for two days on social media, thank you very much for helping everyone find. Hopefully, this time when we have too much to learn to share with others. Blessings are from God. Let’s bring him back.)

In the post, Miclat asked why the kid was not wearing proper footwear for the sport, the boy shared that he doesn’t have one and his parents can’t afford to buy it for him as he has many siblings that they provide for.

The post went viral online and now has over 27,000 shares on Facebook.

Kind-hearted people are the best.
