I’ve been seeing posts online on how difficult it is to find someone to help a mom with their babies. Though nannies (or yayas) can be hired through agencies, there are many families that don’t need 24/7 help. Like some, I just need help in taking care of my newborn baby when I have to report at the office, when I have a meeting or if I have to run errands. After doing a little research, I found AIDE.
Since there are apps for almost everything, AIDE is answering concerns regarding medical needs. The app will not only help you book someone to help you with newborn care, elderly care, and etc. It also features check-ups with doctors and specialists, laboratory tests, vaccination, physical therapy, and medicine purchases right in the comforts of your own home.
As for me, I needed help with my newborn and I decided to book someone for my baby. Their pool of nurses, caregivers, or midwives are accredited professionals with years of experience. Once you request someone, you can see their photo, profile, background, and how long they are working in their professions.
The newborn, elderly and patient care fee ranges from Php1200-Php2300 for long-term care which is a 12hr shift and Php800-Php1200 for short-term care which is a quick visit from a nurse. Short-term care is ideal for injections, wound care, and the like.
I booked long-term care for my newborn and I decided to get it from 7 PM to 7 AM so I can catch some sleep and do some light work.
You should note though, you have to book at least two (2) days in advance. You can pay via bank deposit, Gcash, or debit/credit card.
Once someone is assigned to you, you can chat with them in the app or they will reach out to you via text so they can get further instructions about your location.
Ate Virgi, my assigned midwife for the night has 17 years of experience in the hospital and as a private midwife abroad. I was confident to leave my baby with her since I saw how she handled her. She fed her, changed her nappies, burped her, and put her to bed.
One thing I learned about motherhood is that you can’t do it alone. You can always get help from family, friends, or AIDE.
Additionally, there are other perks you can get for using AIDE. For instance, if you book AIDE for five (5) days, you can get a cashback + freebies!
