Sitti to Represent the Philippines in an International Jazz Festival

Sitti Festival

Many of us remember the 2000s as the era of bossa nova. Its most recognizable face is Sitti, whose smooth and melodious voice was heard on the radio, in malls, and restaurants. Who could blame them? Her covers of “Tattooed on My Mind” and “I Didn’t Know I Was Looking for Love” were relaxing. Now, Sitti is set to represent the Philippines at the Kuching Waterfront Jazz Festival (KWJF) in Malaysia on September 28, 2019.

Joining Sitti are Dawn Wong and The Shanghai Jazz Club (Singapore), Q Sound (USA/Malaysia), Harvey Malaihollo (Indonesia), Xanaduduo (UK/Sarawak), Ushera (Malaysia), Saxx In The City (Indonesia), Ning Baizura (Malaysia), Dave Brewer and The DooDaddies (Australia), Z Yan (Malaysia), and Nisa Addina (Sarawak/USA).

The festival will be held at the Waterfront Walkway of the Grand Margherita Hotel.

Sitti got her start in showbiz in 2004 when she was one of the winners of the MTV Supahstar: D’ Super Search. It led to her recording contract and her debut album Cafe Bossa in 2006. This was quickly followed by more albums, including My Bossa Nova, Ngayong Pasko, Contagious, Sessions, Bossa Covers, and Bossa Love.

The singer revealed on Orange Magazine that starting next year, she will be writing new songs and doing more live gigs.
