The Shazam! sequel is confirmed and Zachary Levi is expected to return to take the titular role.
The release date is also confirmed and it will be on April 1, 2022, according to a report from Entertainment Weekly.
Additionally, director David F. Sandberg is also likely to come back in Shazam! 2 including screenwriter Henry Gayden.
There are no details yet regarding the plot of the sequel. However, a mid-credits scene during the first film hinted at the possibility that Mr. Mind will appear as the villain of the sequel, and that Mark Strong’s Dr. Sivana could return.
Another Shazam!-related movie in the pipeline is Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam. The movie is due on December 21, 2021, about three months before Shazam! 2.
Warner Bros. has announced a few other release dates recently. The Flash is finally coming to cinemas on July 1, 2022, two months after Shazam 2. The Matrix 4, meanwhile, lands on May 21, 2021. The next DC film on the horizon is Wonder Woman 1984, which releases on June 5, 2020.
