Samgyupsalamat means “Thank you for eating Samgyupsal”!

2017’s hype of Korean BBQ madness seems to be continuing on to 2018! Samgyupsalamat, one of Manila’s favorite Korean restaurant, has expanded and reached out to KBBQ fans near Maginhawa, Quezon City, where food parks and restaurants close to the millennial hearts lie. The good news is: you get a free unlimited Korean barbeque meal when you celebrate your birthday with them!

Samgyupsalamat has always been one of our top choices when it comes to eating all the Korean grilled meat. Their first branches can still be found in Manila, Makati, and Banawe in Quezon City. The name ‘Samgyupsalamat’ was coined from the word “Samgyupsal”, which means pork belly in Korea; and “Salamat”, which means thank you in Filipino.  Basically, it means “Thank you for eating Samgyupsal”. The newest branch in Maginhawa opened last year, and it’s perfect for those who want to try something new around the area!

All smiles from their friendly crew

Another interesting note is that this branch is owned by two young entrepreneurs: Karlo Ong, who is just 22 years old, and Lerwin Yap, who is just 21! Don’t get fooled by these numbers as they are very hands-on and always make sure that your Samgyupsal experience is totally worth it. Their staff is very friendly and offers amusingly fast service, too.

The iconic trio of kimchi, pork belly, and lettuce is always a good idea.

Entering the restaurant is like stepping into a real Korean one. Sing along to your favorite KPOP songs as they play all throughout the day and ready your ‘grams for a nice flatlay of their mouthwatering side dishes. Also, Soju will always be waiting to be served. The place is just perfect for get-togethers of barkadas or families.
