In a 50-minute vlog posted by “It’s Showtime” host Vice Ganda, Ryan shared that he has been single since January 2026 and explained one of the reasons why they called off their engagement.
“We found out magkaiba pala kami ng kultura,” he said. “Magkaiba pala ang paniniwala, magkaiba ang gawi, magkaiba ang thinking, lalo na pagdating sa marriage.”
“Syempre marami akong pagkukulang, but akala ko maaayos. Akala ko talaga. I was hoping, I was praying. ginagawa ko lahat,” he explained, adding that he tried talking to both families until he realized that he had to let go.
While he admitted to committing mistakes and shortcomings in the relationship, he stressed that he never cheated on Paula.
Upon being asked about what he felt after the split, he recalled that it was the “darkest” and “hardest” time of his life: “‘Yung experience ko na iyon, it was pinakamabigat sa puso. Ang hirap din sa akin kasi kung ano-ano iniisip ng ibang tao eh, ‘Baka ganito, baka ganyan. Artista ka kasi.’ So parang ang daming may kakilala, ang daming may pakialam.”
In 2023, Ryan publicly confirmed his relationship with Paula. In June 2024, they announced their engagement.
More than a year after their engagement, rumors of a split began circulating on social media after Paula removed their engagement photos from Instagram and the pair reportedly unfollowed each other on the platform.
