Red Velvet’s Wendy and Yeri have officially left SM Entertainment.

On April 4, Red Velvet’s official social media pages released an official statement confirming that two members’ contracts with the agency had ended.

“We would like to inform you that our exclusive contracts with Wendy and Yeri have come to an end,” it wrote. “Since their debut as members of Red Velvet, Wendy and Yeri have been active not only in group activities but also in various fields as artists. The time we have spent together has been invaluable to us, and we sincerely cherish every moment.”
While two of the members have decided not to renew their individual contracts with the agency, fans are assured that they will still continue their group activities with the popular girl group.
“Wendy and Yeri will continue their group activities as Red Velvet members in partnership with SM Entertainment,” it stated,
“We ask for your continued anticipation and support for Red Velvet’s ongoing journey. We deeply appreciate the unwavering love you have shown Wendy and Yeri, and we hope you will warmly support them as they embark on new challenges,” it concluded.
Red Velvet debuted in 204 under SM Entertainment. The South Korean girl group consists of five members: Irene, Seulgi, Wendy, Joy, and Yeri.
The group has released viral hits, such as “Psycho,” “Red Flavor,” “Feel My Rhythm,” and “Bad Boy,” among others.
