Arte Movimiento Productions, an official production group composed of second-year students from the Bachelor of Performing Arts Major in Theatre program of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP), proudly presents Dr. Caritas, an upcoming theatrical production under PEAR 208: Advanced Acting and under the guidance and artistic direction of Professor Ronald Biñas.

Set to be performed on July 20–21, 2026, at the PUP Institute of Technology Audio Visual Room, Dr. Caritas is a Filipino adaptation by Mr. Vlad Gonzales of Molière’s three-act comedic musical play The Love Doctor (L’Amour Médecin). The production highlights the artistry, discipline, and creativity of young Filipino theater practitioners through a full theatrical presentation that showcases acting, characterization, stage production, and collaborative storytelling.
Originally written by Molière, The Love Doctor explores themes of romance, authority, and societal hypocrisy. Dr. Caritas, a Filipino adaptation by Mr. Vlad Gonzales, reimagines the classic tale in a historical setting, following two lovers as they navigate family expectations, deception, and the pursuit of freedom. Blending comedy with satire, the production highlights the triumph of love, wit, and courage over blind authority.
Through this production, Arte Movimiento continues its mission of creating transformative theatrical experiences that inspire and engage audiences through diverse mediums of music, visual art, theater, and performance art. The organization aims to foster a collaborative environment where creativity flourishes and artists are encouraged to explore meaningful forms of expression.
The production is led by Director Adrian Ramos, with Vernon Red Valencia and Hannah De Vera as Assistant Directors, and Professor Ronald Biñas as Artistic Director. The creative team includes Ronald Clemente as Head Dramaturg, Dustin Ashlee Pascual and Jetro Sebastian Tino as Assistant Dramaturgs, John Cennon Pecayo as Technical Director, and Dana Bayna as Assistant Technical Director.
The artistic vision of Dr. Caritas is developed through the collective efforts of Lzara Soriano for Set Design, Reese Aplaca for Lighting Design, Denise Vitug as Assistant Lighting Designer, Esther Franca for Sound Design, Arthur James Dayao as Assistant Sound Designer, Mhave Villanueva for Costume Design, Yana Bernal as Assistant Costume Designer, and MJ Solomon for Graphic Design.
The production operations are managed by Adeline Bangcaya as Head Production Manager, alongside Althea Malilay, Dana Bayna, and Francheska Turingan. The marketing and public relations efforts are led by Keen Encomienda. Supporting the backstage operations are Pristine Mendoza as Head Stage Manager, Francheska Turingan as Deputy Stage Manager, Mary Katherine De Guzman as Assistant Stage Manager, Dana Bayna as Props Master, Gellan Saribay as Set and Props Head, and Veronica Sales as Costume, Hair, and Makeup Head.
Featuring two alternating casts and a dedicated ensemble of student performers, Dr. Caritas presents unique interpretations of its characters while preserving the artistic direction and vision of the production.
With its commitment to producing vibrant artistic teams, innovative productions, and meaningful theatrical experiences, Arte Movimiento invites audiences to witness Dr. Caritas—a celebration of Filipino artistry, collaboration, and the enduring power of theater.
