It’s movie time!

These eager and helpful young girls volunteered to assist during the special screening.

These kids were indeed taught well. They helped out the entire event. Great job, kiddos!

Right after the raffle winners were announced, we all settled for the movie. As soon as the lights went out and everybody fell silent, I braced myself for an hour and a half of action, thrill, and mythology overdose.

Having watched the first Percy Jackson movie, I was eagerly anticipating what the latest installment has to offer. I thought the first movie was good and expected the same giddy feeling–the kind that makes you think you’re still a high school freshman–from seeing the heroes you just read in books come to life in the big screen, which totally makes learning Greek mythology a lot easier–and more fun.

The movie was alright. Truthfully, there were hits and misses and I kind of left the cinema kinda hoping that the film extends long enough to satisfy my craving for more action because I think that this one’s a bit lackluster compared to its prequel. Check out my movie review.

Don’t get me wrong, though. I enjoyed watching it. I may no longer be a kid, but Percy Jackson is the kind of movie that I can watch time and time again because of the young boy in me. But the critic and film fan in me feels that the director could’ve done a lot better.
