Park Bo Gum Just Applied for the Navy, and He Might Be Enlisted Soon

South Korean actor Park Bo Gum, known for his diverse KDrama roles in Reply 1988, Hello Monster, and Love in the Moonlight among many others, has been revealed to have applied for the Korean Navy.

According to a statement released by his label Blossom Entertainment, Park Bo Gum attended an interview for the application yesterday, June 1, the result of which will be released on June 26. The actor specifically applied for the naval military band which performs musical duties for military functions. Once accepted, he will be enlisting on August 31.

AllKPop also reported that, once his training with the navy concludes after a six-week period, he will serve the remainder of his 20-month mandatory service until April 2022.

Blossom Entertainment added that promotions of Park Bo Gum’s projects will be affected based on the interview results.

Park Bo Gum’s newest series, A Record of Youth, will be streaming on Netflix later this year. His upcoming thriller film, Seo Bok, is also scheduled to premiere this year.
