PAGASA reports that the weather will grow even colder in February!

If you’ve been enjoying the recent cold spell in Manila, then here’s some good news for you: PAGASA predicts the temperature to stay the same or even go lower until February. If you (unfortunately) don’t like the cold… then I guess you’ll just have to bundle up a bit more in the coming days.

According to Benny Estareja, PAGASA’s weather forecaster: “Magpapatuloy pa rin yung amihan sa mga susunod na araw (The northeast monsoon will continue in the coming days).” This is due to the northeast monsoon or cold air coming from China and Siberia.

Ana Liza Solis, PAGASA’s chief of climate monitoring and prediction section, says that we can expect the temperature to drop to 18.4 degrees Celsius in Metro Manila. Baguio may also experience a low of 9.6 degrees Celsius.

While this news might not exactly be unexpected considering January and February are consistently the coldest months of the year, it’s still somewhat of a relief given how hot the previous months have been.
