Pacquiao to file ‘New Normal’ bill to implement social distancing practices

Last Monday, Senator Manny Pacquiao said that he is seeking to file a “New Normal” bill in Senate to implement social distancing practices and protocols in different establishments in the country. These protocols are to remain even after the ECQ in Luzon is lifted.

According to Pacquiao, life will “never be the same” until a vaccine against COVID-19 is formulated. With this, he suggested different ways to implement social distancing in everyday lives. He has suggested non-contact greetings, online shopping, and time limit while grocery shopping to minimize physical contact.

The senator also says that stricter sanitation measures should be practiced in food businesses like eateries and restaurants. In a statement, Pacquiao said, “Nakakalungkot mang isipin ngunit kailangan talaga nating magkaroon ng panibagong patarakaran sa ating pakikisalamuha kung sakaling mawala na itong ipinapatupad na Enhanced Community Quarantine.” (This is sad to think about. However, we would really need to have new protocols in socializing in case this Enhanced Community Quarantine is lifted.)
