14 years ago, Nicholas Sparks drama-filled novel-turned-movie ‘The Notebook’ about a 1940 romance between a common worker and a young heiress made us all cry. Who hasn’t seen this tearjerker or at least been forced to see it by girl friends or girlfriends? :p
‘The Notebook’ was Nicholas Sparks’ first published novel and made it to the New York Times bestseller list within its first week of publication in 1996. The movie adaptation came out in 2004 starring Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams.
Now, it is being turned into a Broadway musical with Sparks still playing a part in its production.
With so many memorable scenes and quotes from the book and movie, we can’t wait to see how this will be translated into songs and onto a stage.
