Aside from these traditional Chinese New Year dishes, you’ll also be served:
Steamed rice with assorted meats wrapped in a lotus leaf. Probably my favorite dish of the day.
And sweet dim sum pastries for dessert, particularly buchi and tikoy 3 ways: the traditional tikoy, tikoy with chestnuts and tikoy with brown sugar. Tikoy is sweet and sticky and offering one to the Kitchen God will keep his mouth shut from saying anything bad against you! Probably the reason why tikoy is given to business associates.
Aside from the traditional and vibrant Dragon and Lion Dance reserved for the New Year celebration, guests will be entertained by Soundscape that will serenade the guests with traditional Chinese songs.
The Yin & Yang Shop of Harmony, headed by Feng Shui Expert Princess Lim Fernandez will also guide guests on how to maximize their luck in these coming festivities. Guests will be asked to write down their wishes for the upcoming New Year and the wishes will be hanged on the wishing tree located at the lobby.
After the festivities, there will be a special burning ritual of the written wishes where guests can cast their wishes and release them to the heavens!
There is also a saying that the higher you hang your wish, the closer it will be for the gods to read it, so being a tall 6 foot 1 inch man, guess where I put mine?
