MMDA Lifts Number Coding in some areas for ASEAN Summit

Due to the ASEAN Summit happening this week, the Metro Manila Development Authority has decided to lift the number coding to ease the traffic congestion in Manila.

MMDA tweeted the advisory earlier today. The agency said that the Unified Vehicular Volume Reduction Program (UVVRP), famously known as, the number coding scheme, will be lifted in all cities and municipalities of Metro Manila EXCEPT Makati and Las Pinas on April 28, Friday.

Earlier this week, the government declared that classes at all levels and work in the government and private sector are suspended on April 28.

According to Philippine Star’s report, we are expecting at least nine ASEAN leaders to arrive in Manila on April 26 to 29.
