The world of beauty pageants was shocked when Miss Universe 2015 host Steve Harvey wrongfully announced Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutierrez as the winner, when it was supposed to be Miss Philippines Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach.
Gutierrez was criticized online for not giving up her crown during the correction, and for posting on Instagram that she was “forever your Miss Universe.” Days after the pageant, she was interviewed by Colombia’s W radio station, saying:
It was very humiliating for me, but also for the whole country and for all the people not only from Colombia but the other Latinos that were in the auditorium.
But there seems to be no bad blood now as Gutierrez was spotted at a Filipino restaurant in Miami, where she was warmly welcomed. She even posted an Instagram video where she says “Salamat!” or “Thank you!”
