After going viral last month for parting ways with his girlfriend Elisse Joson, McCoy De Leon went on the record to say that they are on good terms once again.
The young actor confirmed this in an interview with TV5 when asked about the state of his relationship with Elisse by reporter MJ Marfori. “Yes, yes, yes,” he answered to the question of whether they’ve patched things up but stayed quiet on the real reason behind their brief split, which Elisse previously told the press was because of “an online miscommunication.”
“Siguro hindi ko na [i-specify yung naging dahilan], basta iyon na ‘yung mabibigay ko muna. Kumbaga, masaya kami kung ano ang estado namin ngayon,” he said.
McCoy previously stressed that their breakup was not because of a third party like what netizens have been speculating after alleged screenshots of private conversations between him and another woman surfaced on social media. He shared that it was actually because of problems that just piled up and became too much for him to bear.
As a father to their only daughter Felize, McCoy feels “proud” to have made amends for the sake of their family.
“Siguro naman sa pagiging tatay, ‘yun naman ang laging hangad, ‘yung mapasaya yung pamilya,” he added.
Currently, McCoy’s Instagram page is empty, save for one black-and-white photo of him, Elisse, and Felize.
Breakup rumors began to spread when McCoy penned a heartfelt post to their daughter on Instagram in which he apologized for his shortcomings and asked her to be kind to her mom. The entire caption had been edited after it had trended online and now only reads: “Lagi mong tatandaan na mahal na mahal kita“.
McCoy and Elisse met as housemates in “Pinoy Big Brother: Lucky 7” where they developed romantic feelings for each other and eventually became real-life partners. They briefly broke up in March 2018 after going through a rough patch. They then revealed that they had gotten back together before March 2020 and welcomed their first daughter in April 2021, only revealing it in November of the same year.
