Marian Rivera looked back on the heartwarming moment she landed her iconic role as “Marimar” in the Filipino adaptation of the popular Mexican television series of the same name.

The actress shared a throwback GMA news report that captured the emotional moment she unexpectedly received a letter informing her that was chosen for the role.
“18 years ago, a dream came true when I was chosen to play the role of ‘Marimar.’ So much has changed since then, and I have experienced countless blessings. Through every trial and experience in my journey, I’ve been strengthened by faith. I am forever grateful for everything, surrendering all to Him,” she noted.
Marian also expressed gratitude to everyone who supported her throughout her career, adding, “Maraming salamat sa inyong pag mamahal at pag dadasal para sa akin at higit sa akin pamliya. Mahal ko kayo (Thank you so much for your love and prayers for me and especially my family. I love you)!”
In 2007, Marian played the role of “Marimar” alongside her husband, Dingdong Dantes. She’s also known for her notable roles in “Darna,” “Dyesebel,” “Amaya,” and the Philippine adaptation of “Endless Love.”
