One of the most loved and respected athletes in the Philippines, Manny Pacquiao, has demonstrated his utmost generosity and humility once again by helping raise funds for a cancer charity in Abu Dhabi.
The said fund-raising event was held at Yas Marina Circuit last Saturday, November 7, 2015.
As stated in the article, Rahma is a new charitable service launched by the Cancer Patient Care Society, which helps and supports cancer patients in Abu Dhabi. (Source: Emirates 247)
According to the news, Manny attended the said event and joined almost 2,000 walkers and cyclists in RahmaYAS and personally donating $50,000 to help provide practical and psychological support for people diagnosed with cancer.
Even so, the Chairman of the board of directors of Cancer Patient Care Society, Dr. Jamal Sanad Al Suwaidi, expressed his gratitude for Manny’s presence and generosity for attending the said fund-raising event.
Due to the people who attended and supported the cause, who paid Dh50 each, they were able to raise Dh250, 000 or approximately P3, 217,748.

Charitable and Humble Person
As stated by Forbes, as the 2nd highest paid athlete in the world as of this year (2015), Manny Pacquiao never hesitates to give monetary support to his chosen charitable institutions. In fact, when typhoon Sendong hit Mindanao, he cancelled his flight to California, to help people who were devastated by the floods.
Furthermore, there was hearsay as well, that Manny Pacquiao also donated half of his earnings from the Mayweather fight to charity.
Ultimately, for someone who is earning millions per fight, Manny remains humble and a down-to-earth- family man.
Good on you, Manny! Not only are you helping out your fellow countrymen, but also other people in need.
