On Monday, July 1, a man was declared dead by doctors but suddenly showed signs of movement as his body was about to be buried.
The man who was identified to be 20-year-old Mohammad Furqan was believed to be deceased but his body suddenly moved during his funeral ceremony.
Upon seeing this, his family brought him to a hospital in India, according to the Indo-Asian News Service via India today and the report mentioned that he was placed on ventilator support.
“The patient is in critical condition but definitely not brain dead. He has a pulse, blood pressure and his reflexes are working,” the doctor treating Furqan said in the report.
Apparently, the family paid a private hospital with a large amount of money but when they mentioned they had run out of money, the doctors declared Furqan dead.
“We had paid Rs 7 lakh (about P514,000) to the private hospital earlier and when we told them that we had run out of money, they had declared Furqan dead on Monday,” his elder brother Mohammad Irfan was quoted as saying.
Reports mention that the Lucknow chief medical officer Narendra Agarwal will further be investigating the alarming incident.
