Malaysian Bowler Timmy Tan Clarifies That He Is Not Lucio Tan’s Son

The local radio program “Raffy Tulfo in Action” recently aired an episode involving the son of business tycoon Lucio Tan, Timmy Tan. The episode was titled “Anak ni Lucio Tan, ipina-Tulfo dahil sa hotdog!” Apparently, one of Timmy Tan’s helpers claimed that she was mistreated by her boss.

After the news went viral, various YouTube channels have mistakenly used photos of another Timmy Tan. The man with the same name is a professional bowler who represented Malaysia at the Asian Championships in Kuwait and SEA Games in the Philippines in 2019. He reportedly managed to bring home 4 gold medals (two from each event) and his full name is Timmy Tan Chye Chern.

In a Facebook post, he clarified:

It has come to my attention that there is an incident involving an individual by the name of Timmy Tan (Son of Lucio Tan) from the Philippines.
Whilst we share the same name, I wish to clarify that the individual involved in that incident is not me nor am I in any way related to that incident.
