Lucky Chinatown Awesome Food and Culture Tour this May

In previous food tours, it would just be dish after dish after dish until there was no more space left. I enjoyed it but this Awesome Food and Culture Tour made sure that it’s not just our stomachs that were full, but also our mind and soul.

Reflexion’s Studio

We love taking photos, and it’s even better to take photos of new friends like the ones you’ll probably meet when you go on this tour. However, we’re usually shy to ask for photos with someone we just met. Thankfully through Reflexion’s Studio, you’ll get to take home a free photo of your tour group right after.

Reflexion’s Studio specializes on wedding photos but also rent out several items Chinese usually use for their Ting Hun or engagement party.

Phoenix Dragon

At Phoenix Dragon, you can get a forecast on your health, career, business and love for the Year of the Wood Horse from Chinese fortune telling experts. It was fun listening to them tell us all about our good and not so good fortune. They also explained a bit about the different Chinese symbols we often see like the frog, cat, etc. It was very enlightening.

P.S. If you have any trinkets or the like, you might also want to bring it here so they can remove all the negative energy from it, making these item start anew for you. Secrets-of-Lucky-Chinatown-Food-Tour-11bloggers fascinated on their new discoveries at Phoenix Dragon in Lucky Chinatown

Rainbow Snow

We all love ice cream, and this summer’s heat makes me crave anything cold even more! Lucky Chinatown’s Rainbow Ice is like ice cream with an extra flare. Basically, it’s hard ice cream that is then crushed to smaller flakes. So it’s like snow cone meets ice cream! Yum!

Wellness Sanctuary

The Chinese have a long and varied history of medicinal practices, and at Lucky Chinatown’s Wellness Sanctuary, guests are able to choose between trying acupuncture, tui na or fish spa. Acupuncture is good for detoxification, it is recommended for those with any type of addictions as it helps lessens cravings. Tui Na on the other hand is a Chinese massage which uses pressure points, While the Fish Spa Therapy is where tiny fish called Doctor Fish clean off the dead skin in various part of your body.

Tao Yuan

The last stop for today’s awesome food and culture tour is at Tao Yuan. This was also one of my favorite stops for the day. Upon arrival, you will be served with fresh and cool Melon Shake. The main course includes Hainan Chicken with Chicken Rice, Mango Lapu-Lapu and Pancit Canton. All were good but I fell in love with the Mango Lapu-Lapu which also happens to be Tao Yuan’s signature dish. It was like sweet and sour fish with a twist as ripe and green mangoes were used to achieve this taste. Lastly, we were served with Mango Sago for dessert.
