Love Uniqlo? Shop for a Cause With Their PEACE FOR ALL Charity Project

Global apparel retailer UNIQLO announces the release of five new T-shirts for the ongoing PEACE FOR ALL charity project. The latest collection features new graphics designed especially for this project by collaborators including tennis legend Roger Federer, as well as artwork from Miffy creator, the late Dick Bruna.

Since the project’s launch in June 2022, more than 1 million PEACE FOR ALL T-shirts have been sold worldwide. 100% of the profits from these T-shirts are donated to international aid organizations that assist people impacted by poverty, discrimination, violence, and conflict around the world, including UNHCR (the UN refugee agency), Save the Children, and Plan International. So far, over JPY 300 million* has been donated as part of the project. (* Or more than US $2.4 million when calculated using the April 3, 2023 exchange rate of $1 = 132.96 yen)

Activities supported by PEACE FOR ALL donations include the self-reliance projects for Rohingya women refugees in Bangladesh, educational support for displaced Syrian children and vulnerable Lebanese children in North Lebanon, and a campaign to eliminate child early and forced marriage in Vietnam.

New PEACE FOR ALL Collection Collaborators

  • Roger Federer (Professional Tennis Player)1

“For over 25 years, I considered myself very fortunate to explore the world while competing in a sport I love. Tennis and peace both start with ‘Love’ and I hope this simple design also can remind everyone how important it is to respect each other.”

  • Dick Bruna (Picture Book Author, Graphic Designer)

2

Dick Bruna has always cherished and supported the idea that the more the slogan “WORLD PEACE IS POSSIBLE” takes hold worldwide and the more people are convinced of that possibility, the more realistic the goal of achieving world peace will become. Here, we empathize with the PEACE FOR ALL project, which involves taking action fueled by a desire for peace, and we, together with Miffy, sincerely hope all people on this earth will be able to enjoy peaceful living.

  • Cristina de Middel (Magnum Photos’ President)

“I use symbolism in my work a lot and wanted to create an image that meant ‘right to peace’ and what fighting for peace carries. Both the fist and the pigeon are symbols for each one of these concepts so I tried to put them together. The picture could have been shot anywhere in the city of Salvador de Bahia, which always has these beautiful clouds.”

  • Jean-Michel Basquiat (Artist) + Christopher Makos (Photographer)

Every day, billions of people connect online to work, play, learn, shop, and share ideas. They may not know it, but Akamai is there, powering and protecting life online. For 25 years, Akamai has been scaling and securing the internet to make life better for billions of people, billions of times a day. The code texture in this design represents the shared language behind the many digital experiences that connect us all. It’s a language that unites Akamai with the world’s top brands and the people they serve, as we work together toward a vision of a safer and more connected world.

PEACE FOR ALL Project Partners

Profits from the PEACE FOR ALL project will be donated to three global UNIQLO partners. Activities supported by these donations are presented in the following.

  • UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency

UT Peace For All 12

UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, has provided lifesaving humanitarian support to millions of forcibly displaced people in Ukraine, several neighboring countries, and beyond. This includes support for the self-reliance of Rohingya women refugees in Bangladesh, which Fast Retailing, the parent company of UNIQLO, is implementing with the UNHCR.

  • Save the Children

UT Peace For All 14

Donations are used to help ensure the world’s most vulnerable children survive, learn, and are protected in some of the world’s toughest places to be a child, such as Ukraine and other conflict-affected regions. This includes educational support for displaced Syrian children and vulnerable Lebanese children in North Lebanon.

  • Plan International

UT Peace For All 13

Donations go toward protecting girls and young women from harmful practices like child-early and forced marriage and toward realizing a world where girls are respected, rather than exploited, and can make their own decisions about their life. Projects in relation to eliminating child-early and forced marriage are going to be implemented in Vietnam by Plan International.
