Love Actually: A Christmas Speed Dating Night
Last November 29, not only Christmas was in the air, love actually was!
Cherir Life Events organized a speed dating event called Love Actually: A Christmas Speed Dating Night held in vintage Café Ysabel. The event was participated by 20 pairs of lovely, single male and female professionals ages 25-35.
While waiting for all participants to arrive, a signature dish from the premiere restaurant was served and the Love Actually soundtrack filled the air.
To break the ice, prior the main activity, everyone participated in a Strings Attached Challenge. Ladies and Gents were each given a unique string and the goal is to find their exact match among the group. In as fast as 5 minutes, we had 2 perfect matches who shared in the crowd a little bit of something about themselves and most importantly their commonality.
To end the jitters and anticipation, the speed dating program followed. Each pair was given 4 minutes to get to know each other. Once the time allotted is over, the guys moved to the next table to meet a new date. Sparks or friends? They decide! But it has to be mutual to declare a successful match. To set the romantic dating ambience, a pianist from Café Ysabel played classic love songs throughout the activity.
Of course, we cannot forego the night without showing some clips from the movie “Love Actually”. The emcees started to engage the participants about their favorite movie scenes.
To wrap up the event, one male and one female participant who garnered the most number of “sparks” were given an award. While, everyone got yummy calamansi cupcakes courtesy of The Citrus Baker!
Hope these ladies and gents indeed had an interesting holiday. Who knows? Maybe they might have a more colorful Valentines this year as we’ve heard some successful matches have already decided to date exclusively!
