One of the highlights of playing Pokémon is walking along Victory Road, where players must battle expert trainers before facing the Elite Four. The Elite Four are considered the strongest trainers in their regional Pokémon League, and players must defeat all of them to become champions. It’s a tough road but extremely rewarding for players.
This legendary path is the inspiration behind Sean Go’s latest art exhibition, Victory Road, which will be displayed at Secret Fresh Gallery from June 2 to 14, 2024.

The exhibit title evokes a specific childhood memory: the final route in the Pokémon games before facing the Elite Four and conquering the world. It goes beyond nostalgia, though: it serves as a metaphor for life’s journey, remembering that every person has a unique Victory Road to complete, however different, but all beautiful in their own ways.
“What an apt metaphor for life, right?” Go asks. “This exhibit is about celebrating our shared experiences and the unique paths we take.”
This collection of work is Go’s homecoming exhibit after a year of studies at Parsons Paris and his second solo show at Secret Fresh Gallery, following the successful Fallacies of Fantasy in 2023.
Victory Road is presented with Derek Flores of DF Art Agency and Big Boy Cheng of Secret Fresh Gallery. The gallery is at the G/F RONAC Art Center, Ortigas Avenue, Greenhills, Manila.
