An iconic 90s music group is set to put on a reunion show online this week to help raise funds for COVID-19 relief.
Smokey Mountain, a youth group formed by National Artist for Music Ryan Cayabyab, will be performing on Sunday, May 3, as part of Cayabyab’s “Bayanihan, Musikahan” fundraising initiative through which fans can donate while watching their favorite artists and musicians put on a show from their own homes.
Cayabyab revealed the news of the reunion last Friday, April 24, and posted a screenshot of him in a video conference call with Smokey Mountain’s original members: Tony Lambino, Shar Santos, James Coronel, Jayson Angangan, Geneva Cruz, Jeffrey Hidalgo, Anna Fegi, and Chedi Vergara!
“Teaser!!! The Smokey Mountain reunion soooooon!!!” he gushed. “Can you guess what word they are singing in this photo?”
“Bayanihan, Musikahan” was launched on March 18 for the benefit of communities affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and the enhanced community quarantine. As of writing, they have already raised over PHP67.7 Million in donations.
