LOOK: Recent Coronavirus Case Confirmed by DOH is a Young Girl

Confirmed Novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) cases have been increasing to date, but the youngest one recorded as of Sunday involves a 13-year old Filipino girl. And according to the Department of Health (DOH), this latest case— Patient 135— has no history of travel or exposure to known Covid-19 cases.

She exhibited symptoms of Covid-19 last March 4 but was only confirmed to have the disease this Sunday afternoon. To date, she has sought consultation with the Quezon City Health Department, but DOH hasn’t validated where she is confined.

This unprecedented case— an outlier from the cases involving older people— shows that anyone can get the disease. Thus, it is important to always practice social distancing and proper hygiene in the safety of your homes. That means not leaving the house unless it is absolutely essential, and avoiding close contact with people. Handwashing and sanitizing your hands on a regular basis is also important, aside from taking measures to strengthen your immune system.
