One of the Philippines’ newest beauty queens proves that she deserves the crown just as much as she deserves being called a “queen”–one that’s in every way exactly what the word means.
Bb. Pilipinas International Mariel de Leon proves that a true queen doesn’t shy away from controversial and political topics. She voiced out her opinions on the recent appointment of Mocha Uson as the assistant secretary of the Presidential Communications Operations Office.

She didn’t mince her words when it came to criticizing the decision, causing her to draw negative reactions on her tweet that has since been deleted.
Yet, she stood by her convictions, tweeting instead about her high hopes for the nation.
I hope that change will come. And I hope that I can use my voice and my platform to be part of that change.

Even this tweet got various reactions–both negative and positive. Some didn’t like her opinions on the issue, nor the fact that she was voicing them out on social media; while others were glad that she fearlessly expressed what she thought.
She continued to tweet about the issue, not backing down from the negative comments she was getting.
