It’s no doubt, 2016 was a tough year. From war, to terrorism, to global politics, 2016 shook the world in many ways. And aside from those grave tragedies is also the loss of many artists and talents who were beloved around the world. From Alan Rickman, to Prince, to David Bowie, and, most recently, everyone’s beloved Princess–Carrie Fisher.
Martin Bruckner, the artist behind Spaghetti Toes, a blog illustrating the funny things kids say, used his talent to create a wonderful tribute to some of the stars we lost in 2016. The ones who were undoubtedly close to so many people’s hearts because of their music, art, or films that influenced millions around the world.
Here are some of the illustrations he made:
Our beloved Princess from a galaxy far, far, away, Carrie Fisher.
And her mother, Debbie Reynolds.
Music royalty, Prince.
And legendary artist, David Bowie.
Gene Wilder
Muhammad Ali
Leonard Cohen
George Michael
…and lastly, everyone’s favorite villain, Alan Rickman aka Snape.
Their memories will live on forever.
