Liza Soberano’s fan group “Lizanianz” held a block screening for the actress’ first-ever Hollywood film “Lisa Frankenstein” last February 9, 2024, at Fisher Mall.
The group, which was established in 2013 when Liza began her showbiz career in the Philippines, shared pictures with When In Manila of their block screening at the VIP Cinema Parkway where each of the attendees took home a fan-made souvenir photo card of Liza’s “Lisa Frankenstein” character Taffy. 15 lucky winners also received the official movie poster from Warner Bros.
“To our dearest Liza, our Hope, we are so proud that no words can even describe how we feel right now. Even before your journey to an even bigger, wider world, we have always been amazed at how dedicated you are to your craft. Now even the world gets to see what we see in you,” the Lizanianz said in a message for the actress.
“You serve both as our motivation and role model. You are not afraid to admit that you are not perfect and that you stand proud next to your decisions. As you continue dreaming and striving to reach your goals, your Lizanianz family will also continue conquering fear with you, our Hope.”
Another Liza Soberano fan group, the “Liza Soberano fans with no name,” consisting of kababayans abroad Titas, and low-key fans also held a block screening on February 11, 2024, at the SM Director’s Club Cinema, The Podium.
“Lisa Frankenstein” directed by Zelda Williams and written by Diablo Cody follows the story of Lisa (Kathryn Newton), a young and awkward misfit with a tragic past, who accidentally helps bring a dead man (Cole Sprouse) back to life and becomes his accomplice when he starts murdering people who’ve wronged her. Liza plays Lisa’s stepsister Taffy, a peppy and popular student in their school, who does all she can to care for Lisa.
