LEON Authentic Mexican has been in Antipolo City since 2017. With this, they’ve become a neighborhood favorite and one of the go-to restaurants for Mexican food.
They started with a small space 6 years ago, but with the demand for their amazing food continuously growing, they moved to a bigger space this August. We got to check out their new location and try their bestselling dishes!
LEON Authentic Mexican’s new space features a vibrant mural on the wall that showcases a variety of traditional Mexican elements. They consulted with the Embassy of Mexico regarding that mural, so you’re sure that you’re looking at truly traditional Mexican elements.
It was also interesting to note that there were other Mexican items on display around the restaurant such as a tortilla warmer and a volcanic stone molcajete (mortar and pestle).
Of course, their menu features a variety of classic Mexican dishes.
New on their menu is the al pastor tacos which feature flavorful meat cooked shawarma-style.
My personal favorite was the shredded carne birria tacos with mouthwatering consomme. Once you taste it, you’re sure to be back soon for more.
Their carne burritos are also super filling. It’s filled with flavorful rice, meat, refried beans, and delicious homemade sauce.
And if you want burritos with an extra crunch, you can try the equally filling chimichangas!
Another dish we couldn’t get enough of was the flavorful fajitas, which I just learned were pretty much DIY tacos served on a sizzling plate. Each piece of meat was oozing with flavorful juices. You won’t be able to get enough of it either!
They also have hearty Mexican rice, quesadillas, enchiladas, and a variety of yummy appetizers on the menu.
If you want a taste of authentic Mexican beer, they have those on the menu, too.
You can be sure that you’re tasting food as close as possible to authentic Mexican dishes, because they’ve been approved by the Embassy of Mexico! That’s right, LEON Authentic Mexican has served their tasty tacos to the embassy and they even get invited to their events. Many of their foreign customers also comment how much their food tasted close to home.
