Better clear out your schedule this Independence Day weekend because award-winning director Lav Diaz is streaming his 8-hour epic “Hele sa Hiwagang Hapis” for FREE!
For those who have never heard of the iconic film, it is a historical fantasy drama that revolves around the search of Andres Bonifacio’s body and the truth behind his death by his widow, Gregoria de Jesus. It stars many big names in the local entertainment industry, including John Lloyd Cruz, Piolo Pascual, Ely Buendia, Angel Aquino, Cherie Gil, and Alessandra de Rossi.
The film went on to win the 2016 Berlinale Film Festival Silver Bear Award and was subsequently shown in local cinemas.
