“I was over the moon when I found out TNT chose me to be part of this fantastic project,” says KZ, who herself has brought pride to the country with her amazing vocal talent. “I had so much fun recording the song and shooting the music video because I was allowed to be who I am as an artist. During the shoot, I felt like I got to travel because of how amazingly the team recreated some of the famous spots in the Philippines,” she shares.

The song, which was specifically written for TNT’s new campaign, aims to inspire the Filipino youth to keep pursuing their dreams no matter what challenges come their way.  “The song is a reminder that your dreams don’t make themselves happen. You have to make them happen! Get out of your comfort zone, take risks, and expect that in every opportunity you take, you ALWAYS win by learning,” KZ says.

Asked about her favorite part of the song, the 29-year-old vocal powerhouse points to the chorus line: “Sa harap ng pagsubok ay ‘di susuko, Para sa pangarap tayo’y pursigido.

“It talks about how resilient we are as Filipinos despite the adversities we face in chasing our dreams,” says KZ, who also felt inspired by the song’s meaningful message. “‘Yan Ang Pinoy’ reminds me to always do my best in everything that I do, wherever I am in the world because that is who we are as Filipinos.”

Through ‘Yan Ang Pinoy’, KZ hopes to leave a mark in the hearts and minds of listeners, especially the youth, who might be feeling lost and confused about whether they should pursue their passion in exchange for other things. “I am hoping this song inspires listeners to reach and fight for their dreams.”
