Celebrity couple Kim Chiu and Xian Lim have thrilled many fans with their long and happy relationship filled with plenty of kilig moments. So, what’s their secret?

According to Xian, the key is taking it “one step at a time,” allowing each other to have space to grow individually. “Kumbaga si (So for) Kim, she has the freedom to do everything she wants as an artist,” he said. “And she also gives me the freedom to do whatever it is I feel like I need to do.”
“Hindi namin hinahawakan sa leeg iyong isa’t-isa (We don’t grab each other by the neck),” he added.
The couple also shared that traveling together helps in getting to know one another better.
“Doon mo rin makikilala ‘yung tao. Makikita mo ‘yung patience niya, ‘yung mga mannerism and all things that you don’t really get to see ‘pag nasa comfort zone na kayo (That’s how you get to know a person. You get to see their patience, their mannerisms, and all things that you don’t get to see when you’re in your comfort zone),” Xian said.
“Ako (mahaba ang pasensya), gutumin ‘to (Xian), e. ‘Pag hindi siya pinapakain lumalabas na ‘yung ano niya (sungay), rawr! (I have extra long patience; Xian gets hungry easily. If he doesn’t get fed, his horns come out.)” Kim added.

When asked about the possibility of them getting married soon, they stressed that they want to focus on other things first in the meantime.
“E, bata pa kami (We’re still young),” Xian expressed. “And gusto pa naming mag-travel (And we still want to travel).”
“Huwag na natin unahan, dito muna tayo (Let’s not get ahead of ourselves, let’s focus on the now),” Kim added. “Hindi namin pinag-uusapan ang future. Everyday lang kami. (We don’t talk about the future. We focus on the every day.)”
